Sustainability Online

There are so many good sustainability events happening around New England (and beyond).  We get to some of them, and others we don’t.  Thankfully, there are great development opportunities online.    A few upcoming online events and new resources should interest several of you folks:

Clean Air-Cool Planet is hosting a number of webinars in January, including a couple of free info sessions on the Climate Fellows program — OUR SUSTAINABILITY STUDENTS SHOULD CHECK IT OUT AND APPLY FOR THE FELLOWSHIP.  You can register for those and their January webinars on Financing Alternative Energy and Low-Carbon Careers by clicking here.

AASHE is officially launching their STARS program (see previous post) on January 19th.  You can tune into the accompanying webinar at 12 noon.  RSVP here.

Last October, I attended the Northeast Campus Sustainability Consortium Conference, this time hosted at the University of Vermont in Burlington.  Event organizers — chiefly, my good friend Mieko Ozeki — coordinated a strong effort to make conference proceedings available online in multiple formats.  Topics ranged from food as a teaching tool, transportation management, community collaborations, and much, much more.  Scroll through the “Sessions” (linked on the left) for Powerpoint presentations and check out the audio of the Presidents Panel for a sense of what VT college executives are saying about sustainability.
