Ride Board on UCommunicate

Just in time for the Thanksgiving break, I bring your attention to Unity’s online “Ride Board.”  If you’re not familiar, Unity College’s SharePoint system includes a “UCommunicate” section intended to encourage online discussion among campus community members on a variety of topics.  The “Ride Board” forum gives us a place to post and seek travel information in order to share rides: saving costs, reducing travel emissions, and getting to know folks all at the same time.  It seems the forum to date has been used primarily for ride shares during academic breaks, but it could be used for other carpooling.

To access the system (Unity College system users only):

  • Go to: https://blackfly.unity.edu
  • Log in with your Unity College account info.
  • Click on the “UCommunicate” tab at the top of the page.
  • Under “Discussions” on the left, click “Ride Board.”

  1. Hey, Jesse! Great idea to use SharePoint for ridesharing. I am the Sustainability Manager at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. We’re trying to encourage ridesharing here on campus. Would it be possible for you to email me a few screen snapshots from your ridesharing board? I’m interested in seeing how you all set this up. Thanks!
